Selwyn Hughes Scholarship Fund
Applicants are welcome to apply for the above award for *year 1 of any of our Higher Education programmes. The award will cover the tuition and university registration fee for one year. Applicants are responsible for all other costs associated with the programme (i.e. residential costs, amenities, textbooks). The award is based on merit and not on financial need.
The application for the scholarship should include the following:
- a completed application form for the chosen programme of study
- 400-word statement ‘Why I believe I am called to undertake this training
- a supporting statement from your local church
Please submit your application for your chosen programme of study using the ‘Apply Online’ link on the College website. Your personal statement and supporting church statement can be uploaded through the application portal or you can send them by post or email to Admissions.
When writing your 400 word personal statement please include your name, the date and the sentence ‘Why I believe I am called to undertake this training’ at the top of the page.
Applications will be processed in the normal way up to interview stage. Following interview applications will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees. The Trustees will select the applicant to be awarded the scholarship. The successful applicant will be notified in writing prior to the start of the academic year. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified in writing as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will be interviewed for marketing purposes and the award will be publicised on the College website and in the press. Further information can be obtained from Admissions (01252 784731).
* Please note: this award is not available to those applying for direct entry to years 2, 3 or 4 of a programme.
Closing date for applications May 15, 2020
Please note that the closing date for the Selwyn Hughes Scholarship is earlier than the normal application closing date. The application, personal statement and church statement must be received by the closing date. We regret that late applications cannot be accepted.
